Ruby Jean Vinson

September 6, 1940 — July 15, 2011

Ruby Jean (Phelps) Vinson, 70, of Poplar Bluff died Friday July 15, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Vinson was born September 6, 1940 in Butler County, where she lived all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, collecting angels, painting and attending auctions.

On February 24, 1990 she married Richard E. Vinson. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2005.

Survivors include five daughters, Sheila Phelps, Charlotte Yeley, Darla Phelps, Paula Schoch and Traci Phelps all of Poplar Bluff, one son, Randy Phelps and wife Tammy of Union City, Tenn., a sister Carol Lawrence of Broseley, 12 grandchildren, Candice Phelps, Justin Yeley, Mark Yeley, Tanya Phelps, Astasia Phelps, Anthony Yeley, Kalie Davidson, David Bailey, Kyra Taylor, Jaclyn Schoch, and Carrie Kilpatrick all of Poplar Bluff and Jacob Jones of Brighton, Tenn.; 5 great grandchildren, Gavin Thomas, Malichi Williams, Steven Smith, Colten Kara, and Kaleb Williams all of Poplar Bluff and several nieces and nephews. She was also a Mom and Grandma to James Neyman, Terry Neyman and Maddy Novack all of Poplar Bluff.

Preceding Mrs. Vinson in death were her parents, Raymond and Dorothy (Arnold) Jurls, a sister Naomi Muller, a brother Roy Jurls and a grandson Lance Yeley.

Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2011 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dennis Ward officiating. Burial will be in Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley.
