Ruth M. (Harris) Jameson

August 20, 1942 — September 24, 2016

Ruth M. Jameson, 74, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Jameson, the daughter of the late Harold and Ethel Pulliam Harris, was born Aug. 20, 1942 in Grandin, Mo. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. Mrs. Jameson enjoyed spending time with her family, history, shopping, fishing and collecting dolls.

On April 25, 1980, she married Jerry Jameson in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include two children, Teresa (James) McGinty and Heather Harris of Poplar Bluff; a granddaughter, Courtney B. McGinty; two sisters, Shirley (Gerald) Reneau and Bertha Hodge of Poplar Bluff; nieces and nephews, Melinda (Steven) Steward of Poplar Bluff, Shannon (Wayne) Heacock of Blackwell, Mo., Kimberly Reed of Poplar Bluff, Tammy Reed, Jerry Reneau and David (Cindy) Reneau of Ellsinore, Mo., and Bobby Trusty of Poplar Bluff; special cousins, Pat Law and Helen Deal; and a host of great nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A special brother, Specialist Fourth Class Harold R. Harris preceded her in death on March 20, 1970 due to injuries he received in Vietnam while proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army. For his service he was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart Medal posthumously. A close cousin, Jerry Tipton also preceded her in death.

Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Bonnie Goins will officiate. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
