Ruth Haulum Pinkston

Ruth Haulum Pinkston, 91, of Poplar Bluff, MO., died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Pinkston, the daughter of the late Henry and Pearl (Haas) Haulum, was born Aug. 12, 1926 in Walnut Ridge, AR. She was of the Church of Christ faith, and had retired as a bookkeeper from Desgrange’s Income Tax Service and Barnes Grocers. Mrs. Pinkston enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, live music at the Lake, bird watching, puzzles, traveling and camping.

On July 27, 1947, she married Robert A. Pinkston, in Walnut Ridge, Ark. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2006.

Other survivors include two sons, Bob Pinkston and wife Kathryn and Stanley Pinkston and wife Carol, all of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, Stacie Pinkston, Kara Baker and Elaine Richardson; and six great-grandchildren, Avery Pinkston, Tyler Moore, Kaylen Baker, Karson Baker, Claire Richardson and Layla Caperton.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pinkston was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Ann Pinkston, a grandson Rylee Pinkston, a brother, Ralph Haulum and two sisters, Polly Mays and Freida Cunningham.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. Pastor Frank Chlastak will officiate. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Lawrence Memorial Park, in Walnut Ridge, AR.
