Sally Featherston Boyd

Sally Louise Featherston Boyd, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday Jan. 29, 2017 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Boyd, the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Ellen Inez O’Brien Featherston, was born Sept. 27, 1947 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Poplar Bluff and was a homemaker. Over the years, she worked as a receptionist in numerous county offices while living in Texas as well as being a full time Mom. Mrs. Boyd loved spending time with her family and enjoyed making people laugh and feel good.

On Jan. 13, 1978, she married Jerry Boyd in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death in 2007.

Survivors include four children, Eric of Florida, Gretchen of Oregon, Jason of Texas and Jerry Jr. “LJ” of Australia; seven grandchildren, Andrea, Mickaela, Sydney, Maxx, Jessica, Eric Jr. “Hunter” and Caleb; a sister, Elaine Boston of Louisiana; and a brother, Charles Ron Featherston of Texas.

Her daughter, Melissa preceded her in death in 1968.

The visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A Celebration of Life will begin at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Bob Featherston officiating. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
