Sam Corbin, 88, formerly of Poplar Bluff, passed Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Spring Mill Meadows Care Center, Indianapolis, IN.
Mr. Corbin was born October 1, 1926 in Grady, AR to the late Charlie and Zula Washington Corbin. On March 19, 1953, he and Beaufort E. Fleming were married in Harviell, MO.
Mr. Corbin was a member of New Life Ministries. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, and retired from the CORP of Engineers. He enjoyed collecting scrap iron, fishing, hunting and gardening.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two children: Doris Fleming Fields (Joseph) of Indianapolis, IN, and Gerald Michael Fleming (Glenda) of Norfolk, VA; a brother, George Corbin of Kokomo, IN; three sisters, Lessie Mae Bean of Parma, MO, Dessie Mae Campbell of Jacksonville, FL, and Edna Mae Hester of Poplar Bluff, MO; seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be Sunday, from 6-8 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Interment with full military honors will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Bloomfield, at 3 p.m. Pastor Gary McCain and Pastor Dennis Rice will be officiating.
