Sandra Ailene Hurst

Sandra Ailene Hurst, 51, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Mrs. Hurst was born Sept. 18, 1960 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and had retired as a Registered Nurse at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Hurst enjoyed the computer, cross-stitching, reading and traveling.

On May 16, 1992, she married Brian M. Hurst in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Survivors include a sister, Susan Cato and husband Randal of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, David Wright and wife Marlena of Spanaway, Wash. and James McCrellis and wife Jackie of Poplar Bluff; and several nieces and nephews.

Her mother, Lillian (Wright) Parker and grandparents who raised her, Dewey and Zelma Wright preceded Mrs. Hurst in death.

A Prayer Service will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with visitation following until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David Coon officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
