Sarah Mae (Fair) Harris

Sarah Mae Harris, 71, of Chicago, Ill., and a former resident of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at The Renaissance in Chicago.

Ms. Harris was born June 5, 1940 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Powerhouse Church of God in Poplar Bluff, and had retired as a School Community Representative for the Chicago School System. Ms. Harris enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, writing, traveling, making latch hook pieces, going to garage sales and food.

Survivors include three children: Alicia White and her husband Isaiah and Tonya Smith all of Chicago, Ill. and John Harris of Norfolk, Va.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ivy Lowery and her husband Sidney also of Chicago, Ill.

Her parents, Mansfield and Vera Matthews Fair and a brother, William Fair preceded her in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Mt. Calvary Powerhouse Church of God in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Dr. Ron Webb officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
