Sarah Geneva Shrum, 91, of St. Louis, Mo, formally of Wappapello died Friday, January 10, 2020 at DeGreeff Hospice House.
Mrs. Shrum, the daughter of the late Ollie Jerome Zimmerman and Hattie May (Morris) Mason, was born Feb. 21, 1928 in Fisk, Mo. She was of the Baptist faith and was a Data Processing Supervisor for 25 years at Monsanto company. Mrs. Shrum was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 32 years, a lifetime member of D.A.V. Auxiliary and a charter member of the Wappapello MO Eagles # 4066. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
On March 13, 1953, she married Delbert W. Shrum in Jackson Mo. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two brothers, Bob (Jeanie) Zimmerman of Villa Park, Calif. and Don (Bea) Zimmerman of Olive Branch, Miss.; two sisters, Karen Whorton and Mary Ann (Andy) DePeder of Cape Girardeau; a granddaughter Jennifer Ronda Erickson of St. Louis; three great-granddaughters, Caitlin Geneva Dooley, Claire Ann Dooley and Mia Katherine Erickson and one great-grandson Collin Michael Dooley.
She was preceded in death by her son Ronald G. Golden and two brothers, Ernest (Butch) Mason, Jr. and Joe Wayne Mason.
Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2020 at Little Brushy Missionary Baptist Church in Wappapello with the funeral service following at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. Tim Schultz will officiate. Burial will follow at Little Brushy Cemetery adjoining the church.
