Scottie Odell Hastings

Scottie Odell Hastings, 46, of University City, formerly of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Hastings was born Nov. 14, 1962 in Poplar Bluff. He was of the Pentecostal faith, and was the owner of Radon Solutions of St. Louis. Mr. Hastings was an avid sports enthusiast and gourmet cook.

Survivors include his parents, Odell and Carolyn (Elledge) Hastings of Poplar Bluff; sister, Judy Schremp of Poplar Bluff; brother, Stephen Hastings of St. Louis; niece, Jennifer Campbell and husband Ben of Puxico; nephew, Dusty Stroud and wife Julie of Fairdealing; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mr. Hastings was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, the Rev. O. S. and Jerlene Elledge and paternal grandparents, Bill and Robbie Hastings.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel with his uncle, the Rev. Ted Elledge officiating and the Rev. Wesley Taylor assisting. Burial will be at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
