Shawn Tibbs

Shawn Tibbs, 38, of Jacksonville, Ark., formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 in Jacksonville.

Mr. Tibbs was born Dec. 30, 1973, in Dexter, Mo. He was a process technician for an Industrial Manufacturer. Mr. Tibbs enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, bull riding at rodeos, hunting and fishing.

On Sept. 8, 2006, he married Charlotte Stricklin in Poplar Bluff. She survives.

Other survivors include four children: Colton Ray Tibbs of the home, Terra Diane Tibbs, Michara Rayann Tibbs and Shawn-Paul Jesse Tibbs all of Poplar Bluff; a step-daughter, Derrella Dixon of Poplar Bluff; his parents, T.R. and Cheryl Ann (Boyers) Tibbs of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Robert Shane Tibbs and wife Mischelle of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Cory Seth Tibbs of Poplar Bluff; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Barb Stricklin of Poplar Bluff; grandparents, R.J. and Donna Boyers: and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

His grandfather, Paul Tibbs and grandmother, Marion Ham preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service and burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Black Creek Cemetery in Butler County with Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating.
