Shirley Harley, daughter of Thelma Walker and the late Roosevelt West, was born March 28, 1951, in Catron, Missouri. She passed away at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, July 10th at home in Poplar Bluff, after a long battle with cancer. She leaves behind three sons—Derrick Wright and Leroy Harley of Los Angeles, CA, and Brice Harley of Poplar Bluff; and two daughters—Fonda (Jerry) Cole of Plano, TX and Hope (Joe) Starr of St. Louis, and 11 grandchildren. She also leaves behind five sisters—Jo Margaret (John) Hale of Leesburg, VA; Edna Young, Kathy Thomas, and Carolyn (Aimee) Thomas of Poplar Bluff; and Jacquelyn (Robert English) Jackson of St. Louis, and two brothers Kenneth (Mary) Thomas and Howard Brown of Poplar Bluff. Her brother Ronnie Thomas preceded her in death. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
