Shirley Ketcherside

Shirley Ketcherside, 88, passed away peacefully in her home on January 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born to Bill and Lela Grayam (Wright) in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Shirley was a very strong lady and the mother of two strong sons. She was always willing to help anyone she could. Shirley (Mighty Mouse) played Softball for many years and was a founding member of the Women's Softball League in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Shirley was an original member of the Ladies Coffee Club for over 40 years. Shirley was a chartered member of Memorial Baptist Church where she attended for over 50 years.

Shirley loved to fish and spent many years fishing and camping with her husband, family and friends.

Shirley worked several years at the Plastic Factory in Poplar Bluff, before she and her husband purchased the Driftwood Resort. She owned and operated Driftwood Resort Cabins for many years. Shirley and her husband Gene built the Mini Mall at Wappapello, where they owned and operated Mama's Pizza and Cafe in one of the units.

Shirley is survived by her son James (Speedy) Ketcherside; one step daughter Dianne Stanberry; many grandchildren; great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Shirley was proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years Gene Ketcherside and one son Gary Ketcherside and her parents.

Visitation will be held Tuesday January 15, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday January 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Moore Funeral Service Chapel Burial will take place immediately following at Little Brushy Cemetery at Lake Wappapello, Mo.

In Lieu of Flowers the family ask that donations be made to Little Brushy Cemetery.
