Shirley Maxine Stott passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at her home with family at her side.
Shirley was a lover of the arts. She was a past member of the Poplar Bluff Artist Guild, where she served as Past President and won awards for her original style of oil painting. To pursue her passion, she owned and operated The Sand Piper Art Shop for several years where she gave art lessons and continued to create her own original works. In addition, she gave art lessons at Three Rivers Community College where she enjoyed sharing her talent with others.
Shirley also enjoyed playing the piano at home. Her father, Hank Hall, taught her the love of piano and the joy that music can bring. She taught that love of music to her two daughters, Lisa and Donna and her grandson, Kyle. She continued to enjoy music by singing in the First United Methodist Church choir. She loved animals and owned many sweet pets. She owned a Japanese Chin-Poo named Skippy who will miss her dearly.
Shirley is remembered by her friends and family as an artistic spirit.
Shirley was married to Richard Lane Stott, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Hansell (Hank) and Aileen Anna Barrett Hall and a sister, Jeanine Campbell.
Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Gaines and her husband Mike and Donna Stott all of Poplar Bluff; a grandson, William Kyle Million and his wife Jordynn of Poplar Bluff; and two sisters, Colleen Morris and Mary Ann Eaker, both of Jonesboro, Ark.
A Memorial Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff with Rev. David Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at City Cemetery.
