Shirley Maize Tibbs

Shirley Maize Tibbs, 84, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Cedargate Healthcare in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Tibbs, the daughter of the late Henry and Ethel Lewis Maize, was born Dec. 10, 1931 in Poplar Bluff. In her earlier years, Mrs. Tibbs worked in the accounting department of McPheeters Clinic. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, her mother, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her friends; shopping, reading, sweets, and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Tibbs of Poplar Bluff. They married in 1972.

Other survivors include four children, Nancy Rathjen, Bob McMurray, David (Lisa) McMurray and Melissa (Brian) McCartie of St. Louis; eight grandchildren, Erin, Alan, Emma, Kevin, Henry, Madeleine, Cullin and Quinn; and two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Hannah.

The family and friends will gather at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1st at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with a Celebration of Life following at 10:30 a.m. Father William Hodgson will officiate.
