Shirley Wells

Shirley Wells, 81, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Westwood Hills Heath Care Center.

Shirley was born on January 11, 1938 in Denver, CO the daughter of Ray Miller and Cecil Young.

Shirley was retired having been a restaurant manager, in her later years she was a grade school reading mentor for children in Poplar Bluff.

Shirley was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed reading, playing games and doing crossword puzzles, earlier in her life she liked to go camping. Most of all Shirley loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include, her husband Clay Kaestner of Poplar Bluff; four children, Michael (Kathy) Wells of Poplar Bluff, Frederick (Lesa) Wells of O’Fallon, MO, Robert Wells of Cordova, TN and Mary (James) Beussink of Bridgeton, MO; ten grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by her three brothers, Charles, George, and Jim Morris and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a son Albert James Wells.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 123 North 8th Street, Poplar Bluff, on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Simon Enudu officiating.

Interment will follow immediately at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
