Shirley Mae Wood

Shirley Mae Wood, 65, of Hillsboro died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Physician's Regional Hospital in Naples, Fla.
Ms. Wood was born April 1, 1944 in Poplar Bluff, and had been employed at a nursing home. Ms. Wood enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, computers, camping and playing bingo.
Survivors include a special friend and companion of 30 years, Bob Rainwater, of Hillsboro; 3 daughters, LaDonna Guess of Crystal City, Sherry Ramsey and husband Brian of Hillsboro and Tammy Turtrain, of Ill.; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Margie Wilcutt, Wanda Reno and Velma Callow all of Poplar Bluff.
Her mother, Grace Henderson Newton, father, Clyde Morris and two brothers, Bob Clubb and Kenny Newton preceded Ms. Wood in death.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
