Stahl Lee Sturgeon

Stahl Lee Sturgeon, age 50, and a resident of Doniphan, Mo., departed this life on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.

Stahl was born Nov. 8, 1965 in Poplar Bluff and was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School Class of 1984. He received his degree in Electronic Engineering at ITT in St. Louis, Mo., with advance training in Robotics Engineering ITT in Indianapolis, Ind., where he graduated with honors.

He was employed by Gates Rubber Co of Poplar Bluff as a Quality Process Engineer and was a part time instructor at Three Rivers Community College in the Workforce Development Training Program. Stahl was active in The Boy Scouts of America as well as the United Methodist Church of Doniphan and Van Buren.

He received great joy in helping other people and wasn't afraid to say, "I love you" or "call home often" to make sure all was well. Stahl loved creating, whether he needed a camo bag for arrows or a part for his car, he just made it. He would rather read a tech journal or machine semantics than watch TV. Stahl loved spending time with his family, being outdoors, raising hot peppers and fishing.

He leaves to morn his passing 3 children: Brandon and Raven, of Springfield, Mo. and Alex, who attends 8th grade and plays basketball at Doniphan Junior High School and lives with their mother, Donna Sturgeon; his parents, Joyce and David Keathley of Van Buren, Mo. and his father, Ronnie Sturgeon, of Spring Hill, Fla. and friend, Sherry Chilton of Van Buren; a brother, Clint of Waynesville, Mo.; a sister, Jentry Sturgeon of Poplar Bluff; also of the family, Rebecca and Bryan Keathley of Poplar Bluff; plus a multitude of other relatives and friends. Stahl's brother Wade proceeded him in death in 2004.

He will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Van Buren Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 1120, Van Buren, MO 63965.

The visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 3 p.m. The Rev. Jim Cooper will officiate. Interment will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
