Stella Jayne Said

Stella Jayne Said, 97, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Said was born April 18, 1913 in Roland, Okla. She was of the Baptist faith, and was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School Class of 1932. During her early years she modeled shoes, and later she worked in the business office of the Gossard Garment Factory. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and listening to music.

She was married to Charles Said who preceded her in death.

Survivors include two nephews, Jimmie Kent and wife Margaret of Poplar Bluff and Thomas Kent and wife Barbara of Dalton, Ga.; a niece, Barbara Gilstrap and husband Don of Texas; a great-nephew, Michael Kent of Shelby Township, Mich.; and a special friend ""E"" of Poplar Bluff; and many other friends.

Her parents, James Edward and Emma Frances (nee, Purdom) Mann and several brothers and sisters also preceded Mrs. Said in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel with Dr. Steve Proctor officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
