Stephen Jerome Shupe

Stephen Jerome Shupe, 69, of Poplar Bluff passed away Tuesday April 20, 2021 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Stephen was born January 29, 1952 to Jerome and Betty (Mordecai) Shupe in Brookfield, Missouri. He and Geneva Brooks were married March 1, 1992 in Campbell, Missouri. She survives of the home.

Stephen was a member of the Three Rivers Booster Club, a member of the Gideons and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff.

Stephen was employed by Three Rivers College as a CDL instructor and driver for the athletic department. He was the district supervisor for the custodial department of Poplar Bluff R1 school district.

In addition to his loving wife of 29 years, he is survived by five children, Tisha (Jason) Hickerson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Monica (Peter) Brooks of Springfield, Mycah Shupe of Poplar Bluff, Jason Shupe of Poplar Bluff and Mike Shupe of Poplar Bluff; seven grandchildren, Judah, Titus, Saige all of Colorado Springs, Rylee and Ella of Springfield, and Jamison and Jonah of Poplar Bluff; two siblings, Kathy (Rick) Helton of Knoxville, Illinois and Rebecca (Richard) Wigington of Clemmons, North Carolina; 22 nieces and nephews; and 31 great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by a son, Rick Olson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 4-6 PM at First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church with Rev. David McCormack and Rev. Byron Beck officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn-Landess Addition Cemetery in Campbell, Missouri.
