Sue Ann (Potter) Seal

Sue Ann Seal, 102, of Wappapello, Mo, passed away early Sunday morning, Nov. 15, 2015 at her home

Sue was born on January 29, 1913 in Ruble, Mo. to Ivan Julian and Mary Janette (Helvey) Potter, the seventh of fourteen children. At the age of 13 she left home and began work.

In 1929, she met Clarence Elvin Seal in Piedmont, Mo, and they were married on June 30, 1930 in Greenville, Mo.

They later made their home in Ancell-Fornfelt, where they worked together running the Domino Restaurant and Ice Co. They raised their two eldest children there.

In 1954, Sue and her family moved to Lake Wappapello, where they welcomed their youngest daughter. Sue and her husband built Seal's Resort and ran that operation for over 28 years.

Sue was a member of the Eastern Star and an active member of Little Brushy Missionary Baptist Church, where she took on many roles; rocking babies in the nursery, teaching Sunday School, working Vacation Bible School, cooking, participating in church plays and the ladies bible study. She loved life, her family, sewing, cooking, crafting, reading, playing in the snow and most importantly, the Lord.

Survivors include her daughter, O'Deana Dea Teague (Bradley Wayne), of Wappapello, eight grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; a sister, Bessie Melton of Piedmont; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Roger Clarence Seal, a daughter, Anita Sue Wadlington,and four brothers and eight sisters.

Come share your memories with her family on Tuesday at a visitation from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello.

The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Little Brushy Missionary Baptist Church in Wappapello, with Rev. Timothy Schultz officiating. Interment will follow at Little Brushy Cemetery.
