Sylvia Jean “Jeanie” Boatner, 56, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at her residence.
Jeanie, the daughter of the late Thomas Norman and Lillie Jean Fulton Edington, was born Sept. 3, 1960 in Poplar Bluff. She was a retired business owner. Jeanie was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi, Chapter XI Kappa sorority. She loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren and sorority sisters, being on the river, fishing, cooking, reading and playing cards.
Survivors include twin sons, Kinard Hugh Boatner and fiancé Terrah Stratton and daughter, Lunden and Kyle Norman Boatner and wife, Brittany and children, Trevor, Lillian and Emma; the father of her children, Skip Boatner; three brothers, Thomas Norman Edington, Jr. and wife, Jamie of Poplar Bluff and children, Jacee Edington (Aaron) Stumpf of Denver, Colo. and Trell Edington of Poplar Bluff, Timothy Paxton Edington of Grapevine, Texas and Tracy Fulton Edington and wife, Tami and children, Lucas (Erin) Edington and Patrick (Charmayne) Edington; a sister, Mary Jane Edington (Joey Callahan); special friends, Vicki Dennis, Toni Moats, Patti Boyers and Janet Henderson; and Godmother, Virginia Moats.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Fellowship General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff with a memorial service following at 5 p.m. The Rev. Byron Beck will officiate.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Haven House, c/o Cotrell Funeral Service, 701 Vine St., Poplar Bluff, MO 63901.
