Sylvia L. Stilley

Sylvia Lovenia Stilley, 94, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Stilley was born January 20, 1920 in Ellsinore, MO, to the late Frank and Minnie Moss Meyers.

On January 18, 1941, she married George Major Stilley. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1990.

Mrs. Stilley was a member of South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting, reading, shoe shopping, and the St. Louis Cardinals.

She is survived by her children: Georgia Ann Maple of Poplar Bluff, and Sue Burnett (Mack) of Williamsville, MO; grandchildren: Karen Janjua (Omar), Shane Burnett (Lesa), Dwight Stilley, and Chuck Maple (Leigh); great grandchildren: Tyler, Sierra, and Megan Janjua; and Step-great grandchildren: Sierra and Breana Dickey, and Jack and Maeve Green.

A son, Donald Stilley and wife Judie, a sister, Zelma Young and a brother Basil Meyers, also preceded her in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, and continue until time of service at 11 a.m. Pastor Keith Luke will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
