Thomas Kent Campbell, 74, of Wappapello, Mo., formerly of Oklahoma City, Okla. died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Campbell was born Sept. 2, 1934 in Qulin, Mo. He was of the Protestant faith, and had retired after 23 years with the United States Air Force. After his retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Campbell worked 23 years at Bridgestone Tire Co. as a supervisor of final inspection. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 3416 in Wappapello. Mr. Campbell was an avid golfer and when he was not on the golf course he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
On June 27, 1986 he married Janis Sue (Gooding) O'Hern in Oklahoma City, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include 5 children: Judy Armstrong and husband Brad and Robert Campbell and wife Ronda, all of Lake Isabella, Calif., Lori Reck and husband Tony, of St. Louis, Barbara Foulke and husband Mike, of Stillwater, Okla. and Thomas Campbell Jr., of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a step-daughter, Jennifer Gonzales and husband Brian, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Quinten Campbell and wife Betty and Stan Campbell and wife Carolyn, all of Wappapello and Leonard Campbell and wife Linda, of Greenfield, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Audrey Campbell, of Bridgeton, Mo.
His parents, Norman Stanley and Mary Frances (Jones) Campbell, a sister, Mary Ellav Laurence and brother, Gerald Wayne Campbell preceded Mr. Campbell in death.
Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Wappapello Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Dublin officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Qulin Cemetery.
