Truman Floyd Belt, 79, of Poplar Bluff, died December 2, 2012 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Mr. Belt was born August 10, 1933 in Gibson, MO. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War. Mr. Belt was a self-employed building and painting contractor, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
On Aug. 19, 1957, he married Connie Rae Perry. She preceded him in death on Dec. 13, 1972.
Surviving are three daughters, Tammy Chandler of Sikeston, MO, Laura Gowen of Poplar Bluff, and Angela Graves and husband, Tim of Marble Hill, MO; a son, Christopher Belt and wife, Virginia of Hunter, MO; ten grandchildren, Amanda Grainger and husband Mark, Melissa Gaines, Justin Caudel and wife Kayla, Jeremy Caudel, Tara Dunning, Allyson Fitzwater and husband Dustin, Adam Gowen, Aaron Gowen, Anthony Belt and wife Sherry, and Johnathan Wells; five great grandchildren, Kailey Grainger, Logan Grainger, Addison Caudel, Wyatt Fitzwater, and Layne Fitzwater; two brothers, Elvis Belt and Charles Belt and wife Carol all of Poplar Bluff; and a sister, Daisy Shelton of Poplar Bluff.
His parents, Omer and Esther (Hicks) Belt preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A memorial service and interment of ashes with full military honors will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Keith Kinder officiating.
