Twila Hope Dunscombe, 80, of Wappapello, Mo., passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at her daughter’s residence in Imperial, Mo., surrounded by her loving family.
Twila, the daughter of the late Samuel Edward and Mary Rowland Phillips, was born Aug. 10, 1936 in Fagus, Mo. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and had retired from JC Penneys. Twila loved her church family, watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball, watching Lone Ranger and Roy Roger movies, reading and working cross word puzzles. Her most cherished moments were being with her family.
On March 30, 1955, she married Billy Jack Dunscombe in Mississippi. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1984.
Survivors include her daughter, Jacqueline Hope (Doug) Myers of Imperial; two grandchildren, Jerrick (Kristen) Myers of Cape Girardeau and Tyler (Samantha) Myers of Dexter; one great-grandchild, sweet little Tucker Myers; a sister, Flora Lindsey; and two brothers, Sam Phillips and Al Bagwell.
Twila was also preceded in death by a sister, Sophia Piatt.
The visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at noon. The Rev. Louie Robinson will officiate. Interment will be at Shook Cemetery in Shook, Mo.
