Velva Robertia Conner

Velva Robertia Conner, 91, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on May 29, 2026 at St. Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Velva was born on December 4, 1934 to Robert and Maggie (Timberman) Boyers in Coon Island, Missouri.

Velva was of the Pentecost faith. She loved gardening and spending time outdoors. She enjoyed a good poke salad, especially from her own garden. Velva loved hunting down a good bargain and even went "dumpster diving" for a deal.

Velva is survived by her three sons, Ralph Conner of Owasso, OK, AJ White (Anita Risner), and Jimmy Dale White of Poplar Bluff, MO; five grandchildren, Rochelle, Nicole, and Seth of Spokane WA, Ashley and Kyle of Poplar Bluff, MO; five great-grandchildren, Alaina, Jameson, Jacelyn, Cooper, and Frankie.

Velva was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Sandra Kay Gomez and Michelle Mattingly; seven siblings, Ruby, Mary, Ed, Jim, Bobbi Jo, Rhenda, and John A.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 08, 2026, at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Pastor Darryl Friday officiating.
