Vernice Dean Milligan

Vernice Dean Milligan, 70, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Mr. Milligan was born Feb. 4, 1941 in Birmingham, Ala. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was employed as a truck driver with Gregory Logistics. Mr. Milligan enjoyed spending time with his boys, riding horses and cars.

On Dec. 21, 1986, he married Faye Darlene McVey in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Milligan preceded him in death on April 12, 2005.

Survivors include his son, Daniel K. Milligan of Poplar Bluff; and 4 brothers, Marlin Milligan, Norris Milligan, Gary Milligan and Alton Milligan.

His parents, Virgil L. and Mary A. (Prader) Milligan also preceded Mr. Milligan in death.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David Coon officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
