Virgie A. Palmer

Virgie Alice Palmer, 93, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Palmer was born March 15, 1916 in Bloomfield. She was of the Baptist faith, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Palmer was an avid gardener and had won several blue ribbons for her flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was married to Wilbur E. Palmer. He preceded her in death in 1972.

Survivors include five children: Carol Stewart of Naylor, Dorothy Derr of Malden, Marvin Cole, of Naylor, Patricia Pratt of St. Louis and Terry Richardet of Colorado Springs, Co.; and 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis.
