Virginia Rafael Braden

Virginia Rafael Braden, 65, of Poplar Bluff died unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

Mrs. Braden was born May 1, 1946, in Manila, Philippines. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was a 20-year employee at Wal-Mart in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Braden enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and going to movies, yard sales and flea markets.

On May 5, 1969, she married David Braden at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. He survives.

Other survivors include her daughters, Debbie Miller and husband James of Sikeston, Mo. and Laury Lucas of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren; Zack Lucas, Tori Miller, Samantha Lucas and Bryce Miller; three sisters, Manuela Rafael of the Philippines, Cecilia Turner of Ames, Iowa and Judy Burgess of St. Louis, Mo.; and a brother, Alan Rafael of Ames, Iowa.

Her father, Howard Leeth and mother, Felicia Rafael preceded Mrs. Braden in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 noon Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David Coon officiating. Burial will be at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
