Virginia M. Dorson

Virginia Margaret Dorson, 84, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Dorson was born Nov. 22, 1926 in Warsaw, Mo. She was of the Protestant faith, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Dorson enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening and working in her yard.

In 1949, she married Melvin Lester Dorson in Piggott, Ark. Mr. Dorson preceded her in death in 2003.

Survivors include her children, Steven Dorson of Molalla, Oreg. and Linda McDonley of Poplar Bluff; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roy Williams of Molalla, Oreg.

Her parents, Leeander and Clara Wood Williams also preceded Mrs. Dorson in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Russell Chitwood officiating. Burial will be at Black Creek Cemetery.
