Virginia Marie (Schaefer) Jaco

Virginia Marie Jaco, 75, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Jaco was born Oct. 2, 1935 in St. Louis, Mo. She was a member of Twin Springs Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Jaco previously had foster care and day care in her home. She enjoyed making dolls, sewing, embroidering and working in her yard.

On July 29, 1950, she married Jewel Robert Jaco in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1999.

Survivors include 4 children, Robert Jaco and wife Barb of Belleville, Ill., Danny Jaco and wife Shirley and Kathy Berry and husband Brian all of Poplar Bluff and Ginger Tesluk and husband Wally of Carlyle, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Charlotte Green of Collinsville, Ill., Carol Neely of Belleville, Ill., Marjorie Pettway of Austin, Tex., and Vera Emmons of Fairdealing, Mo.; a special sister-in-law and best friend, Julia ?Lolly? Pennington of Poplar Bluff; 2 brothers-in-law, Ted Jaco of Poplar Bluff and Glenn Jaco of Mesa, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents, John Ernest and Florence Mae Oaks Schaefer, sister, Ernestine Travis, and brothers, Frankie Schaefer and John Schaefer II also preceded Mrs. Jaco in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Luther Abbott officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
