Virginia Magill, 87, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019 at Westwood Hills Rehab and Health Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
Virginia, the daughter of the late Carl V. and Letha C. Brown Randall, was born May 25, 1932 in Butler County, MO. She was a member of Calvary General Baptist church and was a homemaker. During her earlier years she worked at Poplar Bluff Tent and Awning. Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family, going to church, listening to Southern Gospel music, gardening and when fish were biting she enjoyed fishing with her husband.
Virginia married the love of her life James Robert Magill on Dec. 24, 1947, in Butler County. He preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Freda (Leon) Fox and Connie (Kenneth) Nance of Poplar Bluff; seven grandchildren, Dennis Settlemoir, LeAnn Pierce, Karen Stucker, Kenny Nance, Kelli Pierce, Justin Magill and Jeff Magill; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Lola Morgan and Carleen Gowan; three brothers, Virgil Randall, Eddie Randall and Phillip Randall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A son James (Jimmy) Russell Magill, four sisters, Margaret Gossett, Edna Moore, Louise Pratt and Bonnie Johnson, and a son-in-law, Dennis Settlemoir also preceded Virginia in death.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Larry Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery off Highway W, in Butler County.
