Wanda M. Allen

Wanda Maxine Allen, 86, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Anna House in Bridgeton, Missouri.

She was born May 21, 1932, the daughter of Eugene and Pearl Hill. She married Clifford Allen on July 5, 1953 in Fairdealing, MO. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2011. They settled in Poplar Bluff, where she was a member of First Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She raised seven children. She and her husband traveled extensively and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and maintaining contact with her extended family.

Survivors include seven children, Clark Allen and wife Mary Ann of Poplar Bluff, David Allen and wife Kathy of Lee Summit, MO, Jerry Allen and wife Ann of Hobe Sound, FL, Linda Brown and husband Randy of High Point, NC, Cheryl Bowers and husband Jack of St. Peters, MO, Wayne Allen and wife Linda of Poplar Bluff, and Kenneth Allen and wife Sandy of Ferguson, MO; 10 grandchildren, Nick Barnes, Cole Allen, Hope Hillis, Christopher Allen, Christine Brown, Tiffany Brown, Rachel Vargo, Justin Bowers, Cobey Collier and Christina Collier; and seven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Allen was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gerald Hill.

Visitation will begin a 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.

Memorials may be made to Haven House or to the United Gospel Rescue Mission.
