Wanda Lee Patrick

Wanda Lee (Cowell) Patrick; went to heaven on Dec. 4, 2018 at her residence in Poplar Bluff.

She was born Sept. 13, 1934 in Senath, Mo. to Bernice Fields and Ishmael Cowell. She spent most of her youth in Campbell, Mo. where she graduated from Campbell High School, the home of the Camels.

She spent most of her life traveling to different countries as a military wife. She enjoyed the Philippines the most because she got to play golf so often. She moved to Poplar Bluff after her husband retired from military in 1973. She enjoyed music, dancing, fashion and interior decorating and also had a love for reading biographies. She enjoyed her employment with Ernie’s Fashions and Jean Marie Fashions. She retired as a secretary from Whitener’s Yamaha in 1996 when she and her husband sold the business. She was a member of New Life Christian Church, Amvets Auxiliary, # 29 Shrinettes, Hillbilly Clan # 140, Canasta Club, Leroy’s Hunting Club and Unity.

Wanda met and married her high school sweetheart Morris Dale Patrick on June 2, 1951 in Kennett, Mo. Dale is still alive and kicking.

Other survivors include her daughter, Vicki Reed and husband Tex; a granddaughter, Christina Reed; half sister, Cindy Russell and husband Greg all of Poplar Bluff; step sisters, Robin Mitchell and husband Keith of Kennett, Mo. and Jean Lundry of Duson, La; and a step brother, Leroy Whitehead and his wife Sherry of Columbus, Miss.

Her Heavenly receiving party is her parents Ishmael Cowell and Bernice Fields Whitehead, uncles Leonard and Zelmer Cowell, her aunt Evelyn Hudson, her stepmother Ernestine Nations, a step brother Nick Nations and her step father J.C. Whitehead.
