Wanda ""Spence"" Shamlin, our dearly loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed Sunday evening, June 19, 2011 at her home.
She now goes to God with no more suffering and pain knowing she was very loved by all that surrounded her. Her very joyful and fulfilling role in this world will always be remembered. She touched all our hearts with her kind and loving nature and will always be cherished in our thoughts as the amazing person that kept us together through all these years.
On Aug. 31, 1971, she married a very loving, kindhearted Harold ""Hap"" Shamlin. For many years they raised their families until he preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2001.
She left behind a loving family that will always love and miss her; daughters, Nancy ""Tinsley"" Summers, Kathie ""Tinsley"" Keeney; grandchildren, Dale Tinsley, Jason Gowen, Ashley Taylor and Joanne Taylor; great-grandchildren, Shateyna ""Taylor"" Holder, Lovantae Youngblood, Zachary Anthony Tinsley and Kaitlyn Gowen; brothers, Bob Spence of Mobile, Ala. and Glen Clark of Dixon, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her father, Omer Spence, mother, Opal ""Gray"" Clark, and sister, Zelma Jeter also preceded Mrs. Shamlin in death.
A graveside service and burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23rd at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating.
