Wanda Lee Tilman, 84, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Tuesday August 20, 2013 at Westwood Hills Care Center.
Mrs.Tilman was born on October 23, 1928, in Marble Hill, MO.
On October 28, 1949 she married John Martin Tilman in Marquand, Mo. He died on March 8, 1996.
Mrs. Tilman was a member of the First United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir for 53 years. She was also a member of the Mona Mason Circle and Wesleyan Sunday School class. Mrs.Tilman retired in October of 2000, after serving as the Deputy County Clerk for Butler County for 27 years. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Sara Collins (Larry) of Cabool, MO, and Gretchen Thom (Hardin) of Poplar Bluff, 3 grandchildren: Crystal Dixon ( Casey), Adam Howe (Allison) and Michael Thom, 3 step-grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren; Claire Marie Dixon and Ella Fay Howe; and a sister Ferneita Hahn of Marble Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; Samuel Madison DuLaney and Bertha Sonora (Shrum) DuLaney, and a sister June DuLaney.
Visitation will be Thursday at First United Methodist Church from 10 ? 11 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
Memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Tilman to the church choir or The Poplar Bluff Public Library.
