Wanda Ruth Whittenburg, 66, of Kissimmee, Fla., formerly of Poplar Bluff died Monday, May 11, 2015 at Osceola Regional Hospital, in Kissimmee.
Mrs. Whittenburg was born June 6, 1948 in Poplar Bluff to the late Leo Leonard Ward, Sr. and Wilma (Raper) Ward. She was of the Baptist faith and worked as a fruit market clerk. Mrs. Whittenburg enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.
In January of 1967, she married Hugh "Butch' Whittenburg in Poplar Bluff. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a brother, James (Joy) Ward of Poplar Bluff; two sisters: Betty Schaefer of St. Louis and Jenny Kraichley of Afton; and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Leo Leonard Ward, Jr. and a sister, Evelyn Delores Ward also preceded Mrs. Whittenburg in death.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. The Rev. Donny Emmons will officiate. Burial will be at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
