Wayne Thomas Dugger, 71, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Dugger, the son of the late Raymond and Verna (Trotter) Dugger, was born Sept. 14, 1944 in Chicago, Ill. He was a member of the Midland Church and had proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam War. For his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars. In his earlier years Mr. Dugger worked as a maintenance supervisor at the old Poplar Bluff hospital. He enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors.
Survivors include three children; Dan Stevens and his wife, Samantha of Houma, La, Eddie Harris of Bristol, Tenn., and David Epp of Nicollet, Minn.; grandchildren: Savannah and Grant Stevens and Bailey and Corbin Epp; a brother, Jessie Ray Dugger of Doniphan, Mo.; a half-brother, Jeffery Lee Cato of Success, Ark.: and a half-sister, Karen Lee Dugger of Bauer, Calf.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Rick White and the Rev. Paul White will officiate. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
