Wesley Davis

Wesley Davis, 83, of Poplar Bluff entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Mr. Davis, a native of Wayne County, was born to Shirley Washington and Fannie Davis on Aug. 24, 1929. He attended Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church. After nearly 23 years of service, Mr. Davis retired from the U.S. Navy at the rank of Master Chief Radioman, having served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was an avid history buff and enjoyed traveling to historical sites and old cemeteries.

Mr. Davis is survived by his son, Mark Wesley Davis and wife, Brenda, of Genola, Utah; grandchildren, Amanda (Justin) Cingolani, Amber (Adam) Proctor and Daniel Davis; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Anthony Cingolani, Kodi, Jonathan, Hayden and Evan Proctor; the mother of his children, Mary Helen Wilson Davis, of Payson Utah; and a sister, Virginia Moore, of St. Louis, Mo. Also surviving are special friends, Wanell Eason, James and Carol Parks, Ted and Janet Hardin, Larry and Serena Eason, Alan, Kathy, Hunter and Cassie Parks; Rodney, Cindy, Sarah, Brandon and Kendra Moore, Kevin Parks; Eric Hardin; Jay and Tiffany Rowland, Steve Eason; and Hunter Burk.

His parents, a daughter, Jaye Davis, and two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Rev. Matthew Johnson officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector, Ark.
