Wesley Randle Johnson, Sr. 65, of Cahokia, Ill. died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Johnson was born June 29, 1943, in Frog Jump, Tenn. He was a member of Little Brushy Missionary Baptist Church in Wappapello; and had worked as an owner/operator truck driver for 30 years. Mr. Johnson was also past President of the Cahokia Khoury League.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Susie (Moore) Johnson; his children, Drew Allen Johnson of Cahokia, Ill., Cyndi Capps and husband Bobby of Cahokia, Ill., Wesley Randle ""Randy"" Johnson, Jr. and wife Kara of Belleville, Ill.; father and mother-in-law, Franklin and Florine Moore of Poplar Bluff; 4 sisters Evelyn Alexander and husband Al of Troy, Ill., Barbara Walrond of Waterloo, Ill., Brenda Capps and husband Bob of Farmington, Shirley Pepper and husband Bob of Pevely; 6 grandchildren, Andy Jackson and girlfriend Jennifer Best, Sabrina Johnson, Chelsea Capps, Wesley Randle ""Trey"" Johnson III, Trinity Capps and Brooke Johnson; a great-grandson Dillon Jackson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clint and Lillie (Perigen) Johnson; 4 sisters, Dimple Davidson, Shelby Wyatt, Mildred Dexter, and Reba Johnson; and 3 brothers William Johnson and two brothers in infancy.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Vaughn Kirkman officiating. Interment will be at in Little Brushy Cemetery at Wappapello, MO.
