Wilbur V. Winchester

June 13, 1921 — March 22, 2012

Wilbur V. Winchester, 90, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Winchester was born June 13, 1921 in Advance, Mo. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff, and had retired as a Regional Manager for Singer Sewing Machine Company. Mr. Winchester was a member of Poplar Bluff Masonic Lodge #209, and served as a volunteer for the Division of Aging. He enjoyed living life to the fullest and singing and playing the guitar at nursing homes, senior citizen centers, Country Mart and other various events.

On Feb. 14, 1941, he married Henrietta M. Maloney. Mrs. Winchester preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 1988.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Snow and husband Jerry of Malden, Mo. and Barbara Gambill and husband Kenneth of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren, James Gambill and wife Julie, Cindy Gambill, Nicole Snow, Crystal Presson and husband Kyle and Dr. Jerry Snow, Jr. and wife Amanda; seven great-grandchildren, Houston and Alaric Davis, Alex Richardson, Kinslee Presson, James Kenneth Gambill III, Jack Snow and Carter Snow; two sisters, Bonnie Shell and husband Glen of Advance, Mo. and Nancy Carol Farrar and husband Ralph of St. Louis, Mo.; five brothers, Bob Winchester and wife Mary of Poplar Bluff, Doyle Winchester, H.W. Winchester and wife Pearl and Jim Winchester all of Advance, Mo. and Jack Winchester and wife Peggy of St. Louis, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, Lee and Freeda (Revelle) Winchester, daughter, Cathy Carolyn Winchester and son, Keith Winchester also preceded Mr. Winchester in death.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Chapel with The Rev. Ronnie Winchester and The Rev. Bob Winchester officiating. Burial will be at Dongola Cemetery in Advance, Mo.
