Wilfred Floyd Lourance

Wilfred Floyd Lourance, 78, of Warrenton, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 at the Whispering Pines Retirement Community in Warrenton.

Mr. Lourance was born June 29, 1936 in Qulin, Mo., to the late Floyd Eugene and Anna Lucy (Webb) Lourance. He was a member of Black River Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Qulin and had retired as a Packer and Inspector at McDonnell Douglas Corporation in St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Lourance enjoyed visiting with family and friends, fishing and traveling.

On June 9, 1956, he married Georgia Maxine Watson in Hernando, Miss. She preceded him in death on Dec. 18, 2011.

Survivors include his daughter, Sheila Manes (Bob), of Jonesburg, Mo.; three grandchildren: Jeremy Trescott, of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Derek Manes, of Bowling Green, Mo., and Corby Manes of Lakeville, Minn.; eight great-grandchildren: Denise, Greg, Dana, Lisa, Kole, Trevor, Morgan and Megan; a brother, Edgar Lourance (Joan) of Qulin, Mo.; and several extended family members.

Two sons, Wilfred Dewayne Lourance and Earl Wade Lourance, a sister, Gladys Jeffries, and a brother, Bud Lourance also preceded Mr. Lourance in death.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Elder Brian Whitlock officiating. Burial will be at Sparkman Cemetery in Butler County.
