Willa Jean Spencer, 90, of Poplar Bluff passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Spencer was born June 26, 1923 in Wynn, Ark. She attended Fellowship General Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Spencer enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
On Dec. 26, 1941 she married James W. Spencer in Doniphan, Mo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1983.
Survivors include three children: David Spencer (Mary) of Forsyth, Ill., Sharon Faith (Roger) of Poplar Bluff and Kathy Baccus (Wayne) of Wappapello, Mo.; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lea Bland and June Hyde (Frank) both of Poplar Bluff; and a brother, Thomas ""Bud"" Mayse of Florida.
Her father, Thomas L. Mayse, mother, Clara F. Mayse Harwell, two sisters, Gladys Soens and ""Tillie"" Soens, a brother, Harold Mayse, and one grandchild also preceded Mrs. Spencer in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 24th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Byron Beck officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
