William Carl Heaton

Buckie William Carl Heaton, 64, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Heaton, son of the late Carl D. and Fennie Irene (Oakes) Heaton, was born May 24, 1944, in Bassett, Ark. He enjoyed building things, collecting John Deere and motorcycle memorabilia and playing the guitar.

Survivors include five sisters, Donis Lemings and husband W.J., of Clarkton, Mo., Sally Lemings, Carolyn Aldrich and husband Jerry, Bonnie Reed and husband Ronnie, and Faye Huneycutt and husband Carl Ray, all of Poplar Bluff, two brothers, Jack Heaton and wife Mary Sue, of Wappapello and Melvin Heaton and wife Velta, of Williamsville; sister-in-laws, Louise Heaton, of Osceola, Ark. and Evelyn Bennett, of Poplar Bluff; a close friend Sherry Cox and husband Donavon, of Pollard, Ark.; and 15 nieces and nephews and 19 great-nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, C. D. Heaton, II and Gordon Bennett also preceded him in death.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with Bro. Louie Robinson. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Bassett Cemetery, in Bassett, Ark.
