William Thomas Killian

William Thomas Killian, 81, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009 at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston.

Mr. Killian was born Oct. 19, 1927 in St. Louis. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston, and had retired from First State Savings Bank in Longview, Tex. Mr. Killian was also a certified Emergency Medical Technician. He was a member of the Toast Masters Speech Club, and was one of the Founding Advocates for the Texas Girls' Softball College Scholarship Fund. During his earlier years he was sought after by the New York Yankees. Mr. Killian enjoyed spending time with his family and baseball.

On Aug. 13, 1948 he was married to Barbara Maurine Aylor. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters: Pam Killian and Kimberly Killian both of Austin, Tex.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Alan J. Wollenburg officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
