William Joseph Leslie

William Joseph Leslie, 61, of Rombauer, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

William was born on March 03, 1965, to William and Caroline (Janes) Leslie Belleville, Illinois.

William served in the United States Navy. He then pursued a career in healthcare, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. William worked in several nursing homes around the Poplar Bluff area. He cared for Pediatric in-home patients as well. William enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, and spending time with his family. He was a talented woodworker and carpenter.. one of his favorite lines was "I think I can make that!" William's caring and kind personality touched many lives, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

William is survived by his three children, Debra (K. L.) Jones, William L. Leslie, and Nicole (Steven) Elliott; seven grandchildren, Mason (Kaydence) Russell, Kaylee Webb, Riley Leslie, Nora Webb, Mackenzie Leslie, Michael Elliott, and Bentley Elliott; along with many other extended family and friends.

William was preceded in death by his parents, William and Caroline Leslie; wife, Debra Leslie; grandson, Gage Russell.

Full military honors will be performed at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Rombauer General Baptist Church followed by a celebration of life.
