William Robert Murdock

William Robert Murdock, 79, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Murdock was born Feb. 7, 1934 in Maynard, Ark. He attended the Church of Christ and had retired as a tool and die maker for American Can Company. Mr. Murdock was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and collecting, trading and reloading guns.

Mr. Murdock was married to the former Donna Lee Ward. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include two children: Alan Murdock of Conroe, Tex. and Sherry Lynn Smith (Jack) of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren: Logan Alan Murdock, London Noel Murdock and Billy Smith: and several cousins.

His parents James D. and Gelena L. Meeks Murdock also preceded Mr. Murdock in death.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. Interment will be at the Maynard Cemetery in Randolph County, Arkansas.
