William Henry Wallace

William Henry Wallace, 63, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009 at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Wallace was born Jan. 12, 1946 in Broseley. He was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Broseley, and had retired as service technician for a paper company. Mr. Wallace was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Vietnam. For his actions he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal; Combat Infantry's Badge; Army Commendation Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Bronze Star; Vietnam Service Medal as well as Vietnamese Gallantry Cross W/Palm.

Survivors include two sons: Stacy Brown of Fayetteville, NC and Ricky Howard of Augusta, Ga.; four grandchildren; six sisters: Rosemary Britton, of St. Louis, Virginia Spivey and Rose Wallace both of Indianapolis, Ind., Shirley Hardin and Velma Ward of Jefferson City and Liz Maniki of Poplar Bluff; and four brothers: Anthony Wallace of Elkhart, Ind., Robert Wallace of Poplar Bluff, Gary Wallace of Jefferson City and Manuel Wallace of Madison, Ill.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church on Hwy. AA in Broseley. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the Church with the Rev. Andrew Jefferson officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
