Willie Dell (Jones) Rattler

Mrs. Willie Dell Rattler, 89, of Poplar Bluff, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Rattler was born August 14th, 1925 to the union of the late Clifton and "Tennessee" Jones in Woodland, MS. She received her education at Houston High School (MS). The family later relocated to Jackson, TN, where she worked as a substitute teacher and secretary. Later, she worked in Missouri as a Nursing Assistant before assuming private in- home duties for the late Dr. Arthur Parker. Finally, it was her beautiful smile that served Rattler's Grocery community best.

She united with the late William Taft Rattler, June 10th, 1958. To that union two children were born: Lisa Renee and Rex Wayne making them then the proud parents of (5) with Grace Ann Scales, the late Mike and Loyce Rattler.

Her spiritual journey began at Midway MBC (Vardaman, MS) and led her to join with Pleasant Hill MB Church family.

She leaves to cherish her memory three (3) children: Grace Ann (Doug) Scales, Joliet, IL, Rex Rattler, Sr. (Poplar Bluff), Lisa Rattler, Indianapolis; 2 sisters: Minnie Bell Conner, Indianapolis and Eloice (Felix) Tubbs, Jackson, TN. Grandchildren: Sheila (Myke) Scott, Little Rock, AR, Rasolyn Hill, Monique Thompson, Jasmine Filer, Indianapolis, Rex Rattler II, Poplar Bluff. Great grandchildren: Caiden, Carlin Hill and Moric James (Indianapolis) Latres Floyd and David Rattler (VA) a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives; Special friends: Jim Parker (Tulsa, OK), Alice Brown and Mrs. Norene Sloan.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, June 15th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Tommy Robinson officiating. Burial will be at the Poplar City Cemetery.
