Willie Weaver, Jr., 81, of Sikeston, Mo., formerly of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Weaver was born Sept. 29, 1929 in Lepanto, Ark. He was baptized in the Baptist faith, and had retired from I.B.E.W. Local #702. Mr. Weaver enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and tinkering with cars and motorcycles. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On Sept. 22, 1955, he married Elsie May Smith in Marked Tree, Ark. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2003. On Jan. 13, 2010, he married Flora Neeley in Sikeston, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include 8 children, Ricky Weaver and wife Selena of Poplar Bluff, Carolyn Lorene Martin and husband Paul of Malden, Prescilla Weaver and husband Chris of Van Buren, Mo., Shirley Ann Jaco and husband Danny and Diniah Sue Parks and husband Larry all of Poplar Bluff, Danny Ray Weaver and wife Karen of Cape Girardeau, and David Ray Weaver and wife Cindy and Darlene Renee Weaver all of Poplar Bluff; a stepson, Raymond Dushuanack of Poplar Bluff; 27 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Benita Hesselrode of Poplar Bluff; 2 half brothers, William Clifton Weaver of Poplar Bluff and Billy Weaver; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, William Taft and Bertie (Holland) Weaver, daughter, Brenda Weaver, sisters, Dorothy Mae Weaver, Wanda Faye Weaver, Carolyn Weaver and Waydean Curtiss and grandchildren, Braxton A. Parks and Dakota Parks also preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel with Rev. Howard Coleman officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
